Being a Fru-Gal

Fru-Gal (pronounced Froo Gal).

Definition of a Fru-Gal:

1. Enjoy the thrill of finding a bargain/deal for a NEEDED item.
WANTED items are always good but make sure you really, really love it.

2.
Refusing to pay full price for all items.
Most items are way overpriced. MSRP is just a "suggested price to sell." You are almost always guaranteed that same item will go on sale 2-3 weeks from when they put it out on the floor. Wait for the sale & try to find a coupon to add on for good measure. You will surely get a bargain then.

3.
Searching for a coupon or a discount code on the internet.
If not, then you can wait a few more days or a week to search for them. And if all else fails AND you are still thinking about that one specific item, it really means you love it that much, then you can treat yourself (within reason). i.e. Purchasing a $1500 camera is not within reason. Those you will have to do extensive research & cannot be an impulse buy.

4.
Buy & Try & Return.
Ensuring you can get full refund of you item, you can always buy it & return it. Try it at home (if it's clothing) to see if you truly love it. Sleep on it for a few days (not literally in the clothing) & see how you feel. If after a week or 2, you are still not sure if you'll really ever use the item, then it's time to return it. Same goes for other things like cameras. Many places (i.e. Costco) have a policy that you can return within a certain time frame so you can try out that expensive camera for a month or 2 to see if you love it. If you've realized you don't even take pictures that often, then it's time to return it. Please do not abuse these return policies otherwise you'll ruin it for the rest of us.
